BEAVERTON – The Malinowski campaign is proud to announce a broad slate of endorsements from unions throughout the region.
Tualatin Valley Fire Fighters Union IAFF Local 1660 endorsed Greg Malinowski in his first campaign in 2010, and was the first union to endorse him again for his reelection. “Firefighters appreciate Greg’s solid commitment to emergency responders and public safety, as well as his support for the rights of working people,” said Rocky Hanes, President of IAFF Local 1660.
Portland Community College Federation of Faculty and Academic Professionals, AFT 2277 recently endorsed Malinowski as well. “We are recommending PCCFFAP members support Greg Malinowski in the May 20 election because of his proven leadership and his openess to public input ad needed to meet responsible growth around Rock Creek,” said Jaime Rodriguez, VP of Political Action for PCCFFAP. ” It’s an area that is important to us for our members and students who live/commute into the area.”
Grocery workers from United Food and Commercial Workers 555 have also endorsed. UFCW 555 represents front line staff at Albertson’s, Fred Meyer, Safeway, and QFC. “Our members greatly appreciate Greg Malinowski’s proven commitment to safe, quality food sources,” said Kevin Billman, Director of Legislative and Community Affairs for UFCW 555. “Greg understands that community building, protection of workers health and rights and open public participation are vital to our community. We encourage voters to re-elect Commissioner Malinowski.”
Greg Malinowski is also proud to announce endorsements from NW Oregon Labor Council, AFL-CIO, Service Employees International Union Local 49, Service Employees International Union Local 503 and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 48.
“I grew up in a union household. My father was a member of the boilermaker’s union. He taught us the importance of working together and that unions fight for family, living wage jobs,” said Greg Malinowski.
Greg Malinowski serves as County Commissioner for Washington County Commission, District 2. Greg and his brothers own 60 acres of beautiful farmland in Bethany. Greg lives and works on the farm with his wife Jonella, where they grow organic hay and beef.
